Five star New Jersey native Malachi Richardson has given his verbal pledge to Syracuse.  Another day, another top basketball recruit selects Syracuse.

Today it is Malachi Richardson, a top rated shooting guard/small forward from Hamilton, New Jersey, who has chosen Jim Boeheim's club.

Richardson, who is rated five stars by Scout and ESPN, selected Syracuse during a ceremony this afternoon at his high school, Trenton Catholic Academy.  He is in his first year at Trenton Catholic after playing with current Syracuse freshman Tyler Roberson at Roselle Catholic last season, winning a state title. Richardson starred in the championship game last March, knocking down all five of his three point attempts en route to a 22 point, six rebound performance.

Richardson is listed at 6'6", 190 pounds on ESPN, and reportedly has a wingspan of 6'10", which makes him an attractive candidate to play the top of Syracuse's zone.  He is also thought of as one of the best shooters in the 2015 class.

SU won this recruiting battle over Indiana and Villanova.  Richardson also holds offers from Arizona, UConn, Georgetown, Maryland, Miami, Minnesota, Ohio State, and Pitt, among others.  Richardson was at the Carrier Dome for Syracuse's 69-52 win over Indiana, which one could assume had some impact on his decision between the Orange and the Hoosiers.

Richardson is the second member of Syracuse's 2015 class, joining forward Tyler Lydon.
