We’ve largely sat out the Legal Analysis between the ACC and FSU.
I’m no lawyer, I don’t know what will happen. I’m skeptical of anyone who says they are sure of what will happen, and I’ve read analyses from multiple people on both sides that punch holes in the other’s argument. All of it sounds reasonable too, so we just wait until actual rulings start coming through.
Some stuff happened today – so here’s a summary.
In its motion, the ACC argues the court should dismiss FSU’s amended complaint for 4 reasons:
1. FSU has not presented a “legally cognizable theory” for establishing why a Florida court has jurisdiction over the ACC, based in North Carolina.
2. Venue is not proper— Andrea Adelson (@aadelsonESPN) February 16, 2024
Now we wait for rulings from the judges. FSU has already filed its own motion to dismiss/stay the ACC lawsuit against the school’s board of trustees filed in North Carolina. Expected to take several months. Depending on what the judges decide, there could be an appeals process

This is just getting started and isn’t even close to being resolved.
