Nothing like a middle of the day report to spice up college football. This is the day, of course, that USA Today published it’s 2015 first college football rankings of the year.
As reported by Tim May of The Columbus Dispatch (and confirmed by The Ohio State University), Buckeyes DE Joey Bosa, HB Jalin Marshall, WR Corey Smith, and HB Dontre Wilson are all suspended for unspecified Ohio State University Department of Athletics Policy in the Labor Day matchup with vs. Virginia Tech.

And that my ACC and Hokies friends – is big (these are players that are listed as 4-5 star type recruits – no wonder Braxton Miller is working out at the HB position). Ohio State was listed as a double digit favorite going into this game with Virginia Tech (more than two touchdowns). I contend (with Virginia Tech’s defense – the best I’ve seen in 10 years in Blacksburg) that that was too high to begin with – and that spread number is going to be falling a bit. Those who got in while it was high were fortunate. The Hokies have a legit chance for an upset now. Oh, and Virginia Tech defeated this team with these players on the field last year – so if it happens without these guys on the field – I don’t want to hear it.
