Averaging 4.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in just over 25 minutes, the wing was starting to look a little crowded to Jesperson, so he decided he was done after two seasons (and a redshirt year) as a Virginia Cavalier.
The 89th rated player coming out of the 2011 class (according to ESPN) joins a NIU team best known for their surprise Sweet 16 run in the 2010 Tournament. As the 9th seed, the upset #1 overall Kansas 69-67, before falling to Michigan State in the next round.
Jesperson will have to sit out a year before he can play for the Panthers.
