The Pitt Panthers took care of business in their opening game of the 2024 college football season with a 55-24 win over Kent State. Eli Holstein had a great debut for Pat Narduzzi's club, completing 29-39 passes for 330 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns. Nate Yarnell came in late and added a TD pass of his own. Desmond Reid had a heck of a game, rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, adding a punt return touchdown as well. Kenny Johnson was outstanding, catching 7 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in the win.
