Let's continue our position rankings with cornerbacks.

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers Offensive Linemen |
Tight Ends | Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Safeties | Special Teams

1) Mark Gilbert, Duke

Duke with the top Linebacker and Cornerback in the ACC? Yep it’s true – David Cutcliffe has definitely elevated the talent base in Durham. Mark Gilbert made several pre-season All-America and All-ACC lists. He is also a Jim Thorpe candidate. Gilbert had 6 interceptions last year, and he’s only entering his junior season.

2) Trayvon Mullen, Clemson

Clemson’s Trayvon Mullen is only starting to touch the surface of his potential. NFLDraftBible says he is raw, but could be the best CB ever to come out of Clemson.   NFL Scouts think he could have 1st or 2nd round talent. He had 3 interceptions in 2017.

3) Michael Jackson, Miami

Michael Jackson of Miami had a 2017 season that saw him intercept 4 passes in just his first season starting. If Malek Young had not suffered a career ending injury, Jackson and Young may have formed the best CB tandem in the ACC. He was a 2nd team All-ACC selection last year.

4) Levonta Taylor, Florida State

Levonta Taylor is another solid CB in a long line of quality CBs at Florida. He had a strong sophomore season, and should be even better as a junior. Taylor had 2 interceptions last season with one being returned for a touchdown.

5) Essang Bassey, Wake Forest

There are several good looking junior cornerbacks in this list, and Essang Bassey of Wake Forest is another one. He was twice ACC defensive back of the week last season, and had 3 interceptions to go along with 75 tackles.
