UB will travel to the Carrier Dome for the first time since 2001 when the then-Orangemen took down UB 83-62. Preston Shumpert led the way with 22 points while Deshaun Williams and Kueth Duany added 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Buffalo is coming off a 17-15 season after making the NCAA Tournament the previous two years. Bobby Hurley took the 2015 Bulls to its first ever NCAA Tournament debut before departing to Arizona State thereafter. The 2016 Bulls were able to cruise to a second straight tournament appearance despite Hurley’s departure.
Syracuse’s non-conference schedule is beginning to take shape. Just last week it was announced that the Orange will host Maryland in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Other marquee games in the non-conference portion of the schedule include a trip to Miami to take on Kansas, squaring off against UConn at MSG and a trek to Georgetown to take on the Hoyas and first year head coach Patrick Ewing.
