Since moving to the ACC, the Syracuse Orange have been gradually upgrading what they can, including large projects like the indoor football practice facility. Though the Carrier Dome is in their sights at some point, the school did take care of one “easier” fix this summer.

Just in time for fall, SU’s teams will find much better digs in the Carrier Dome locker rooms. You may have noticed things looked a bit run down in the famed Dino Babers post-game speech. And it’s likely SU and donors noticed too. So the next time Dino gets folks amped up on national TV, expected a better appointed space, for sure.
According to the Friday release, the home team locker room, home team coaches locker room and athletic training rooms have all seen updates.
Those changes included new lockers, furniture and carpeting, installing a new energy-efficient ventilation system and a raised ceiling.
This isn’t part of the larger Dome renovation project, however, so don’t think the Orange are calling it quits after just fixing the locker rooms. It may not be the biggest change, but it is a nice feature to have ready to go as recruiting for all sports heats up heading into the new year.
