Until about 10:30 last night, it looked like the big story from yesterday would be that Notre Dame is likely coming into the ACC next season. Of course, then Miami squandered a double-figure lead and the Canes home game versus Georgia Tech got interesting. The Yellow Jackets had the ball in a tie game on the game's final possession. The shock isn't that Marcus Georges-Hunt tapped in the game winner at the buzzer its that the Yellow Jackets were in the game in the first place.
Georgia Tech has been a woeful offensive team (ranking last in the ACC in offensive efficiency) all year long and Miami has been one of the best defensive teams in the ACC (4th in the ACC in defensive efficiency at 93.3). In Miami's last four games their defensive efficiency has been an eye-raising 111.6. Where did the Miami defense go? Maybe a better question, will it come back?
UNC picked up a solid win in College Park (just ask Duke about how tough it is to win there), and the Tarheels were once again living by the 3 point shot. The Heels were 10-24 from 3 point range and with the win clinched a bye in the first round of the ACC tournament.
NC State took care of business at home, and avenged a bad loss, over Wake Forest 81-66.
Tonight Virginia plays at FSU at 9 PM on ESPN. The Cavaliers are coming off of a loss to Boston College, and are in desperate need of a win tonight. Check out the preview, Game Sim predictions, links, and more below.
