The Orange did not trail in the game's final 38 minutes, getting a relatively easy win on Friday night.
At least temporarily, you can put on hold whatever concerns you had about the Syracuse Orange following their (sort of) slow start to the 2014-15 season.
Syracuse beat a quality Holy Cross team (which beat Harvard a couple weeks ago) on Friday night at the Carrier Dome, coasting to a 72-48 win. The Orange led by 22 at halftime and, after their lead was trimmed to 11 following the intermission, were able to pull away in the latter stages of the second half.
Rakeem Christmas and Chris McCullough did their thing once again in the front court, combining for 39 points and 21 rebounds. Kaleb Joseph added 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
On a less exciting note, Trevor Cooney was 1-of-7 and scored just five points, while Tyler Roberson missed his second straight game with, according to Mike Waters, a strained abdominal muscle.
Still, as Syracuse readies for battle against the Michigan Wolverines on Tuesday in Ann Arbor, tonight provided at least some reason to feel encouraged.
We'll have more recap to come later tonight and tomorrow but, for now, leave your post game thoughts here.
