The Florida State Seminoles took care of business in their season opener with a 74-62 win over Northern Kentucky. Jamir Watkins and Taylor Bol Bowen each scored 17 points in the win. Bowen shot 5-9 from the floor, was a perfect 7-7 from the FT line and had 2 blocks, 3 steals and 4 rebounds in the win. Watkins finished with 4 steals and rebounds as well. On defense the team forced 22 turnovers and the Noles dominated in the paint, outscoring Northern Kentucky 44-16.
