Despite a strong effort and a late second half surge the Eagles could not overcome the Blue Devils lead.
Reggie Jackson hit a deep fade away three with a 6'10 defender in his face to bring BC within 1 point (64-63) with 16 seconds left.
BC ran the final play as planned however the execution was not there and Jackson was late with the pass to Trapani. Skinner said following the game, "Reggie held it a little too long."
Coach Skinner also said that the sloppy execution at the end of the first allowed was ultimately "the difference in the ball game." BC fell behind by 10 points (35-25) at the break and after hanging tough for most of the first half.
To the Eagles credit they battled hard in the second half and held their own rebounding despite an obvious size disadvantage. Perhaps most impressive was the foul shooting BC exhibited down the stretch as they chipped away at the lead.
Corey Raji led BC with 15 points and 8 boards. Rakim Sanders had 13 points and one monster block on a fast break dunk by Nolan Smith which really ignited the crowd. Trapani and Jackson each had 12 and 11 points respectively.
