NC State represented the ACC well last night as the Wolfpack defeated Louisville 31-24. Mike Glennon played particularly well throwing for 3 TD's against 1 interception and totaling 264 yards. NC State relied on the big play on offense and the defense did just enough to give the ACC it's first win of the bowl season.
Also of note, NC State's David Amerson grabbed another two interceptions giving him the ACC record with 13 interception. Just a remarkable season for the sophomore.
On the basketball court, Virginia handled Maryland Eastern Shore easily 69-42. Mike Scott led the Cavaliers with 17 points, but Darion Atkins stole the show for Virginia fans. Atkins finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds and @WahooBasketball said, Atkins made the biggest impression on Tuesday night.
Atkins is one to keep an eye on as this Virginia roster is establishing new roles after the departures of KT Harrell and James Johnson. Paul Jesperson also made his debut for the Virginia Cavaliers scoring 5 points.
Tonight in ACC Basketball, we see the debut of Maryland's Alex Len. Len served a 10 game suspension from the NCAA, but is back and should give a big boost to the Terps. With the return of Len and Pe'Shon Howard, who returned from an injury last game, the Terps should be a stronger team both offensively, but more importantly defensively. The Terps rank 264th in the nation in defensive efficiency and worst in the ACC, one spot behind Boston College. Len's size and ability should give a big boost on both ends of the court.
