The North Carolina Tar Heels football program now has a five-star recruit according to one recruiting site.
It’s been a week since class of 2018 wide receiver Jordyn Adams announced his commitment to the University of North Carolina.
The wide receiver became the 11th player to commit to UNC for the 2018 class and he just might be the biggest one yet.
Adams announced his decision during an appearance on the NFL Network at “The Opening” recruiting camp in Oregon. At the camp, Adams shined as he earned some praise from recruiting analysts.
He committed as a four-star prospect and one of the best receivers in the country.
Now just a week later Adams has earned that fifth star from 247 Sports and has climbed the player rankings.
Barton Simmons of 247 Sports revealed the updated player rankings for the 2018 class on Monday afternoon and there sits a fifth star for Adams. He’s one of sixth players to earn that fifth star in the rankings.

With the addition of the fifth star, Adams shot right up the player rankings list. He’s now ranked as the ninth-best player in the country cracking the top 10 for the first time.
Adams is also ranked as the third-best wide receiver in the class behind only Amon-Ra St. Brown (No. 8) and Penn State’s Justin Shorter (No. 7).
This is the first time in a while UNC has had a prospect earn that fifth star and reach the top 10 in the player rankings.
It’s well-deserved for Adams too who has worked his butt off to get that star.
