Virginia forward Austin Nichols has been dismissed from the team.
Virginia has dismissed Austin Nichols, per release. Huge ACC news.

Nichols had missed the first 2 games of the season due to violation of team rules. He returned to play in Virginia's last game and lead the team in scoring with 11 points. One can only assume that the 2 game suspension was the warning, and Nichols dismissal was due to a recurrence of a team violation.
Bennett says, "It's a privilege to be part of this program and Austin has lost that privilege.

Nichols absence will open the door for someone to step up in the frontcourt. Isaiah Wilkins, Jarred Reuter, and Jack Salt will likely have the best shot at front court minutes. You may also see Virginia play a bit smaller as they have more depth in the backcourt.
What's next for Nichols?
Wonder where Austin Nichols heads next. Maybe D-League? Don't think he'll have much of market in Europe. Probably still has NBA aspirations.
