The Tulsa head coach, and former Kansas star, led the Golden Hurricane to a 21-13 record and a NCAA Tournament berth. He has a career record of 38-29 (.567) in his two seasons as a head coach. This year's team featured nearly all sophomores and ranked 295th in experience. Prior to joining Tulsa, Manning was an assistant under Bill Self at Kansas from 2006 to 2012. At Kansas he earned the reputation for being an excellent "big man" coach while he worked with players such as Thomas Robinson, Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris, and Cole Aldrich among others. He also recruited Xaiver Henry to Kansas, who is a former McDonald's All-American and current NBA player.
