Hinton injured his knee at some point during the first half against Delaware. Although he came up lame on a non-contact run, there is some question as to whether or not he actually injured it initially on a play or two before.
John Wolford will assume the starting quarterback role again as Wake Forest takes on Indiana this weekend in Bloomington.
In relief for Hinton, Wolford went 13-24 with 155 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also added 70 yards on the ground on 7 carries and another touchdown.
The next four games for Wake Forest are: @ Indiana, @ N.C. State, Syracuse, and @ Florida State. If he can come back in time for Syracuse that would be great, but if not, resting him against Florida State, and then the bye week, would make the most sense.
This news comes just two days after it was announced that freshman running back Cade Carney will miss extended time after a knee injury sustained during practice last week.
It seems that the injury bug has gotten to Wake Forest so far this season, with multiple key players missing time at critical positions. This is especially disappointing, as Hinton and Carney had seemingly established themselves as the primary starters at the QB and RB position respectively.
