The commits kept rolling in on Monday!
Wake Forest picked up a commitment from 4-star QB Brendon Clark last night. Clark is a 6-2, 180 quarterback out of Manchester High School in Midlothian, VA.

While it is very early in the 2019 cycle, Clark is ranked as the 72nd best player in the 2019 class by 247Sports, and the 4th ranked Pro-Style QB. To be completely open here, he is rated highly based on one evalution by Rivals. He has yet to be evaluated by the other three big recruiting services that 247Sports uses to compile the composite ranking.
Regardless of where Clark winds up, the fact that Dave Clawson landed a top 75 national player is absolutely amazing. Not to mention we are still extremely early in the 2019 cycle and most players rated this highly tend to commit to big schools if they are committing at all.
Clark also had offers from Maryland and Duke, but Wake’s diligence and early scouting helped tremendously to land him. Wake offered him first on May 18th after watching him throw in a 7-on-7 practice. Maryland followed that up a month later.
Clemson has shown some interest as well.
This is the second 4-star Wake Forest has landed in as many days, and the staff continues to put our tremendous results on the recruiting trail.
It is also obvious that the 804 (Richmond) area code is becoming a big recruiting spot for our staff given the number of players and commits from that area.
Based on the clips above he has a very strong arm, as well as good pocket presence and a quick release. He is effective in rolling out to the right, but also demonstrated an ability to make good decisions while rolling to his left as well. The spread offense that is shown in the video looks a bit like Wake’s offense actually.
We are really excited to see Brendon in Old Gold and Black, and will just have to wait a few years for that to transpire. Great work by the staff to get on him early, and great decision by Brendon to come to Wake Forest!
