A few weeks ago we thought Dick Vitale would be calling Wake Forest vs Duke. Vitale was not able to call that game, but he’s back for Clemson vs Duke.
This bears repeating from when I posted this earlier in January.
One of the true icons of the college basketball media is back! I’m thrilled to see Dick Vitale will be back covering basketball, and he’s starting with an ACC matchup Duke and Wake Forest.
I met Dick Vitale when I was a student at Georgia Tech before a game. I was hesitant to go up to him as I figured he was deeply into his prep for the game, but right or maybe wrong I did and he couldn’t have been more gracious.
He signed a few autographs and chatted with us for a bit. He just oozed passion for the game of basketball. I’d always liked Vitale, but seeing his off-camera persona largely match his in-game one – well that just tells you how genuine he is.
Welcome back Dick Vitale!
