Last Week: 3-3 Overall: 62-20
Florida State vs. Wake Forest
To be perfectly honest, I do not see how Wake Forest can muster much offense now that Michael Campanaro is out. Even if Wake had Campanaro, it would still be difficult for the Deacs to get much going against this FSU defense. The only question for the Seminoles is how much of a let down (if there is one) there will be after last week's game. Either way, this will be a blowout. FSU should roll. Florida State 48, Wake Forest 10
Virginia vs. North Carolina
What you want to look for in this game is how Marquise Williams handles the UNC offense now that he will be taking over with Bryn Renner done for the year. He started against Virginia Tech, and played well. He also gets the luxury of not having to face Virginia's top two corners as well. Virginia's not going bowling this year, and who knows what they will be like this week after the Clemson shelling they took. I think they will play much better this week, but UNC will squeak out a win. North Carolina 27, Virginia 24
Syracuse vs. Maryland
This is a toss up game. Syracuse went from getting shut out by Georgia Tech to shutting out Wake Forest. Maryland has lost three of their last four, but they are getting C.J. Brown back, which makes a big difference for Maryland's offense. He is a much better quarterback than Caleb Rowe. His presence on the field will be the difference in the game. Maryland will get the win at home, and will be bowl eligible for the first time under Randy Edsall. Maryland 24, Syracuse 17
Boston College vs. New Mexico State
Here's all you need to know about this game. You have Andre Williams, the nation's second leading rusher, going up against a defense that allows 312 yards rushing per game, easily last in the nation, nearly 40 yards per game more than the second worst rush defense. There's a good chance Williams gets 100 yards rushing in the first quarter. Maybe one of the backups gets 100 yards as well. Either way, Boston College will roll in this one. Boston College 49, New Mexico State 10
NC State vs. Duke
Normally, this would just be another game, but Duke needs this to stay in the ACC title game race. The Wolfpack have lost four in a row, and have not scored 20 points in those game. Conversely, Duke has won four straight, and is coming off of a bye week after upsetting Virginia Tech. Anthony Boone should have a much better game than he did against Virginia Tech, and the Blue Devils will get their seventh win of the season. Duke 34, NC State 19
Virginia Tech vs. Miami
There is a good chance that the winner of this game will win the Coastal Division. But I have no trust in either team. We've seen the Hokies look pretty putrid on offense, especially over the last two weeks, while Miami has not fared very well over the last three games, squeaking by twice, and getting blown out by Florida State. But how do they play without Duke Johnson is the biggest question. They will be fine with Dallas Crawford. The Hurricanes will need to rely on him a lot, and I think they will, and they will squeak out another win. Miami 23, Virginia Tech 21
Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh
Pitt has lost three in a row to Notre Dame, but all three have been by one score. This year's Panther team does not have the fire power on offense to keep up with Notre Dame, mostly because the offensive line can not seem to keep Tom Savage upright, nor can they run block. The Panthers had -5 yards rushing last week against Georgia Tech. Notre Dame will be efficient on offense, and will get the road win. Notre Dame 30, Pittsburgh 17
