Last Week: 4-3 Overall: 66-23
Georgia Tech vs. Clemson
The eyes of the college football nation will be on this Thursday night matchup. The Yellow Jackets have been a streaky team this year, winning three straight to start the season, followed by a three game losing streak, and a three game winning streak. But they have their work cut out for them. Clemson has rebounded nicely from losing to Florida State a few weeks ago, scoring 99 points in the two games after the loss. While I do think Georgia Tech will put up some points in this game, Clemson should win this one thanks to Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins having their way with the Georgia Tech defense. Boyd will throw for over 300 yards, and Watkins will have over 100 yards receiving. Clemson 38, Georgia Tech 20
NC State vs. Boston College
If NC State wants to stay in the hunt for a bowl, they have to win here. A win would also snap what is now a five game winning streak. Another loss, and they will not make a bowl this year. And they have to face the best running back in the conference in Andre Williams. A Boston College win here gives them bowl eligibility. While they are a bit banged up on defense, the Eagles should still be able to stop the NC State offense enough to let Andre Williams do his thing. The Eagles will win. Boston College 27, NC State 17
North Carolina vs. Pittsburgh
After starting 1-5, the Heels are on a three game winning streak, and are technically still in the Coastal Division race. The Heels relied on the ground game last week to dispose of Virginia, and they could do the same this week. Pitt is coming off of a nice win against Notre Dame, and I would not be surprised if Pitt has a bit of a let down game after beating the Irish last week. Not only that, but the Pitt offensive line still can't protect Tom Savage, and I could see the UNC defense getting four or five sacks, and forcing a turnover or two. I like UNC on the road here. North Carolina 27, Pitt 20
Maryland vs. Virginia Tech
One of the most intriguing stats I saw this week is that under Randy Edsall, Maryland has not won a game after October 13 of any year. And I don't expect them to win here. Virginia Tech looked liked the best team in the ACC Coastal last week in their win over Miami, but we all know that Logan Thomas is an enigma. He could just as easily turn it over three times and keep Maryland in the game. I think we will see the good Logan Thomas this week, and he will be more of a dual threat quarterback this week. I wouldn't be surprised if he threw and ran for a touchdown. I'll take the Hokies at home. Virginia Tech 27, Maryland 14
Syracuse vs. Florida State
There is only one way I could see Syracuse being in this game, and that is if t the recent accusations of sexual assault on Jameis Winston affects him greatly. If it does, then Syracuse has a shot...of being within three touchdowns. Otherwise, this should be over early, like just about every game FSU has played this season. Florida State 49, Syracuse 10
Miami vs. Duke
We have officially entered uncharted territory. We're this late in the season, and the game of the week features Duke. Not because they could play spoiler for someone else, but they have a shot at winning the ACC Coastal. Miami has faded of late, thanks to injuries and stiffer competition. I will not lie-I am rooting for Duke to win, because I want to see this program succeed this year. And I'm going to pick them because they have been playing a lot better on defense of late, and they have also been running the ball successfully, something Duke teams of the past have not done much of. Duke 34, Miami 28
Bonus Prediction: Bye week 31, Virginia 20
