Syracuse adds a speedy ATH to its class of 2017.
On Thursday, speedy ATH Russell Thompson-Bishop became the 14th commit to the Orange class of 2017. Thompson-Bishop currently plays for Connecticut's Bloomfield High. He stands at 6-foot-1' and weighs 192 pounds.

According to Scout's Michael McAllister, Thompson-Bishop visited Syracuse last month and immediately put them at the top of his list. Other schools on the list included Boston College, Temple, and UConn.
Thompson-Bishop was quoted saying "I chose Syracuse because it is the best of both worlds from the offers I have received. The coaching staff, campus, incoming team, and playing style had a big part to do in my decision." He also stated "The way coach Babers wants to run the team fits me as a wide receiver and I love the quarterbacks. (Relationship with the coaches) played a great role. I speak to at least one coach daily."
It looks like Thompson-Bishop will fit the new motto of "Orange is the New Fast" as Scout reported that he has ran a 4.38 40, and is also a track star.
Babers is clearly focused on speed and it should be really exciting to see what these guys can do on the field. Thompson-Bishop is now the fifth wide receiver in the class of 2017, joining Josh Palmer, Cameron Jordan, Nykeim Johnson and Sharrod Johnson.
