Miami has learned that they have landed a talented defensive end that is one of the nation’s best for their 2017 recruiting class.
Defensive end D.J. Johnson, 6-foot-5, 240 pound prospect form Luther Burbank high school in California made his announcement over a Youtube video on Monday.
Johnson visited the Hurricanes last week and it didn’t take long for him to choose Mark Richt and Miami over programs like Alabama, Arizona, Baylor, California, Florida, Georgia, and 20 other programs.
“(It is an) extraordinary place and program,” Johnson told All Things ACC. “Everything, the alum support, great coaches, great fan base, and a great family atmosphere”
Johnson is the first defensive end to commit to the Hurricanes for their 2017 recruiting class and the 18th overall commitment.
