ACC Morning Linkfest 1/10/2015 with Game Sim Predictions

A huge day of ACC basketball is upon us.  Nevermind the fact that there will be ACC basketball from Noon - 8 PM leading up to watching my Panthers play, but the games pair teams that should be pretty evenly matched.  The matchups between Louisville/UNC and Notre Dame/Virginia highlight the day's action though.

UNC hosts Louisville in a game that the Heels desperately need to win.  North Carolina is coming off a disappointing loss to Notre Dame on Monday night and need the win to avoid dropping to 1-2 in conference play.  Louisville is 2-0 but has played two close games against Wake Forest and Clemson.  The Heels are looking for more consistency from their frontcourt, while Pitino hopes Louisville has learned something after 2 ACC games.

The other big matchup of the day is Virginia playing Notre Dame in South Bend. The Irish are the only team at 3-0 in the league, while Virginia sits at 2-0 and is coming off a game on Wednesday where they got a scare.  How will the efficient shooting Notre Dame team (#1 eFG%, #2 TO% per KenPom) fare against Tony Bennett's Packline Defense (#5 in eFG% allowed per KenPom)?  London Perrantes has been a big part of the Virginia success, while Notre Dame's star is trying to put the past behind him.
