It was a Saturday of missed opportunities for the ACC. On the gridiron, UNC was impressive in their win over Cincinnati in the Belk Bowl and Louisville took Miami to the proverbial woodshed in the Russell Athletic Bowl. On the hardcourt, only Syracuse won a game against Top 50 opponent in the NCAAGameSim.com rankings. NC State collapsed late against Missouri and neither Wake Forest or Boston College did enough against Xavier and VCU, respectively. Virginia Tech laid an egg at home losing to UNC Greensboro, who is currently ranked in low 200's. Duke did handle their business against Eastern Michigan at home.
Today, there are 3 winnable games for the ACC. Georgia Tech has an opportunity for a good win at Charlotte. I wonder if Brian Gregory might give Leonard Hamilton a call since the Seminoles beat the 49ers by 40+ not too long ago. Notre Dame will take the court for the first time this season without Jerian Grant. Who will step up for the Irish after losing their leading scorer?
