After a Saturday of blowouts in the ACC, Sunday gave us three road winners and two really good games. Virginia won their game easily at Maryland and scored over 80 points for only the 2nd time since Tony Bennett has coached for the Cavaliers. Make sure to check the SCACCHoops.com Power 25 when it comes out later today to see how Virginia has moved after a strong week.
NC State won a tough game on the road at Clemson thanks to a Scott Wood 3 in the final seconds. The Pack had Lorenzo Brown back in action and it might have affected their offensive flow a bit to start. NC State decided to come out flat to start this one and Clemson jumped out to an early lead over the Pack. Once the Pack committed themselves to the defensive end, things turned around and Wood's shot gave them a win in their final possession.
Boston College had a chance to beat Duke on their final possession on a day where the Blue Devils were forced to travel on gameday to Chestnut Hill due to the blizzard that hit the northeast. Olivier Hanlan had a good luck from 14 feet, but the ball rimmed out and the refs swallowed their whistles on a scrum under the goal as time ran out. To say Duke escaped is putting it lightly. The same Blue Devils that posted an offensive efficiency of 175 in the first half against NC State just barely scored a point per possession in this one.
