On Monday night we had a battle between Virginia and Miami and the Canes prevailed 64-61. Malcolm Brogdon did all he could for the Hoos scoring 28 points on 12-18 shooting. It was Davon Reed (or R33D if you're a Miami fan) who led the way for Miami with 21 points on 6-8 shooting, 5-6 from 3. The key factors in the Miami win were an eFG% of 57 and a FT Rate advantage of 43-15. If you aren't familiar with FT Rate, its basically measures how good you are at getting to the free throw line. If the Canes had made more than 60% of their free throw attempts, the game wouldn't have been so close.
Tonight, we have Clemson facing off with Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech taking on Boston College. As a bubble team, Clemson needs every win they can get and tonight they have a tough matchup with a suddenly hot Georgia Tech team. In the other matchup, the quest for perfection continues as BC remains winless in conference play. The Hokies are coming off a win at FSU, but are just 2-7 in their last night 9 games. With BC playing at home, the Eagles have a shot which makes this game watchable, well maybe.
