UofL Coach Rick Pitino had planned to start Mahmoud (sprained ankle) on Wednesday with his ability to pass against the Syracuse zone #L1C4

Mahmoud had figured to be one of the players who would benefit the most from the "play younger guys more minutes" mantra that Rick Pitino said he would employ during Monday afternoon's ACC coaches teleconference.
Mahmoud, a sophomore, is averaging just 3.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, but had shown flashes of brilliance during ACC play. His most notable performance of the season came against Georgia Tech when he poured in career-high 15 points, including several key buckets down the stretch to help the Cards seize a 75-71 road victory.
Blow it up. Blow everything up.
