Let's take a look at Georgia Tech Football.

Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech’s first season under Geoff Collins was predictably a difficult transition from Paul Johnson’s triple option era. The Jackets went 3-9 which included a nightmare 24-27 loss at the hands of The Citadel. Did Collins get everything he could have out of Georgia Tech? I don’t think so, but they did get better as the season progressed. By the end of the year, they weren’t even the worst team in the ACC. That would be NC State. Recruiting is going reasonably well so there’s hope for the future. Most Georgia Tech fans recognize the rebuild will be a multi-year project.
Will Go 6-5 (6-4) if:
The schedule doesn’t overwhelm them. You would think with Georgia falling off the schedule, Georgia Tech would catch a break, but not really. The Yellow Jackets still face Clemson, Notre Dame, and the ACC’s toughest non-conference game UCF. There’s Louisville, and games at Florida State and at Miami. This schedule is difficult enough, but for an offense that ranked 127 last year… ouch. Georgia Tech has a chance to survive the schedule though, because there is some talent. Jordan Mason is a rock solid RB. Jahmyr Gibbs and Jamious Griffin were highly ranked RB recruits the last two years. Ahmarean Brown might the best kept secret at WR in the ACC. The back seven on defense is a quality unit.
Will Go 3-8 (3-7) if:
The offense doesn’t make major strides, and the schedule is too much too handle. You could easily see the Jackets go 1-5 or even 0-6 against Clemson, Notre Dame, UCF, Florida State, Miami, and Louisville. Where are the rest of the wins going to come from to have a winning record? Teams like Boston College, Duke, and Pittsburgh aren’t pushovers. Returning starting QB James Graham may not even win the job, so that position isn’t near settled. The season could spiral out of control in a hurry.
