Louisville’s issues inside Littlejohn Coliseum reared their heads once again Wednesday night.

Louisville shot a woeful 5-of-24 (17.4%) from three and hit at just a 30.4 percent clip from the field overall in a 54-50 loss at Clemson Wednesday night.
The loss dropped U of L to 0-4 in ACC road games inside Littlejohn Coliseum. Virginia is the only other ACC team Louisville has failed to beat on the road since joining the conference in 2014-15.
U of L’s abysmal performance on offense meant that its tremendous performance on defense went to waste. The Cardinals stayed in the game by holding Clemson to 7-of-35 shooting from beyond the arc and 35.8 percent shooting from the field.
Alas, it did not matter, as a late Josh Nickelberry three-pointer was the only thing that kept Louisville from being the third team Clemson has held below 50 points this season.
Carlik Jones narrowly extended his streak of consecutive games scoring in double figures to 37 by scoring a team-high 11 points. He was the only Cardinal to hit double figures.
Per usual, Aamir Simms led the way for Clemson. The senior big man scored a game-high 16 points to go along with nine points and four assists. Al-Amir Dawes (15) and Hunter Tyson (10) also scored in double figures for the Tigers, who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Look, the effort level was great, so I’m not as irate as I was after the Miami loss, but everything we just saw from Louisville when it had the ball tonight ... I’m gonna need some time. I need to think about some other stuff, any other stuff, for a little bit.
