From the ACC Network(via GoHeels) a little archive footage of the grand opening of the Dean Smith Center and the opening game which came against Duke on January 18th, 1986. UNC won 95-92. Dean Smith, given his famous humilty, never liked the fact the building was named after him.
And here is the full game if you are interested.
One interesting note. This was the final season without the three point shot in college basketball and this season the only played in the Dean Smith Center without a three point line on the court.
