In a back-and-forth game that some called "must-win," the North Carolina Tar Heels outlasted the Pitt Panthers, 67-66 R.J. Davis scored a game-high 18 points on 6-12 shooting, including 3-5 from three-point range and knocked down a big jumper to give the Heels the final lead with just under a minute to play. Davis also added a couple of nice dimes on his way to 3 assists in the win. Ven-Allen Lubin had his best game since transferring to UNC, finishing with 17 points on 8-12 shooting to go along with 4 rebounds, a blocked shot and numerous hustle lays for the Heels. There were 11 ties and 13 lead changes in the game. Cameron Corhen was a force inside, scoring 17 points on 7-9 shooting while Jaland Lowe scored 15 points before fouling out in the loss.
