Louisville denied again as Courtney Ramey picks Texas

Louisville’s quest for 2018-19 players continues.

The rough recruiting start for the Chris Mack era at Louisville continued Friday afternoon when four-star class of 2018 point guard Courtney Ramey committed to Texas.

A Cardinal commit before the FBI news broke last fall, Ramey had been the top-ranked class of 2018 point guard still on the market. He also checked in at No. 31 on the final 247 Sports top 100 rankings last week.

Ramey picked Texas over Louisville and Missouri, among others. He had previously been viewed by many to be a Villanova lean before the Wildcats signed Jahvon Quinerly.

After having to cancel an in-home visit at the last second two weeks ago, Ramey paid a quick visit to U of L on Tuesday. Apparently that wasn’t enough to bring him back into the fold. The news comes on the heels of Louisville going 0 for its first four graduate transfer targets.

The quest for 2018-19 bodies continues.
