Louisville got its "Light Up The Ville" event off to a quick start by adding two Florida defensive backs, Lyn Strange and Anthony Johnson, to its class of 2017.
Louisville's recent emphasis on recruiting size in the secondary continued Friday night as the Cardinals landed two commitments from tall, lengthy defensive backs out of Florida. Lyndarious "Lyn" Strange (6'3, 190) out of Tallahassee North Florida Christian High School and Anthony Johnson (6'2, 180) out of Chaminade-Madonna Prep School in Hollywood, FL both committed while attending Louisville's "Light Up The Ville" camp that is sure to produce several more commitments before the weekend is over.

Both commitments continue Louisville's recent emphasis on getting bigger in the secondary through recruiting. 2016 Signees Lamarques Thomas (6'0, 180), Chris Taylor-Yamanoha (6'2, 185), PJ Blue (6'2, 210), and London Iakopo (6'1, 205) are a good bit bigger than the safeties Louisville has employed recently (and keep in mind those are their listed heights and weight as signees, without being in the conditioning program and lifting). The emphasis has been even more pronounced with TreSean Smith (6'3, 190), Johnson, and Strange all at least 6'2 and slated to play safety or corner.
As mentioned above, both committed during Louisville's major summer football camp, so don't expect these to be the last commitments we hear about this weekend, some of which could be rather big names.
