Some tough news for the veteran Cardinal placekicker.

Louisville kicker Blanton Creque tore his ACL during the Cardinals’ 28-21 win over Virginia on Saturday and will miss the rest of the 2019 season.
A redshirt senior from Shelbyville who has been U of L’s starting kicker for each of the last four seasons, Creque will end his college career ranked third on the Louisville football all-time scoring list (310). He’s also third in program history in field goals made with 51.
Blanton Creque ends his career holding several spots in the Louisville record book:
— Kelly Dickey (@RealCardGame) October 28, 2019
1st in FG % (82.3)
1st in points by kicking in a game (18)
1st in FG made in a game (4)
2nd longest FG streak (14)
3rd in scoring (310)
3rd in FGs (51)
3rd in PATs (157)
3rd in PAT % (96.9)
With Creque out, field goal duties will likely be handed off to sophomore Ryan Chalifoux, who made the extra point on Saturday after Creque’s injury. Freshman James Turner handled kickoff duties on the one kickoff after Creque’s injury.
Best wishes to Blanton on a full recovery. I’ll miss the kickoff coverage big hits the most.
