The diminutive Hawkins is one of the fastest players in the 2018 class.
Louisville may have landed its next Traveon Samuel in three-star Florida athlete Javian Hawkins, who committed to the Cards Monday night.

Hawkins, who is rated as the No. 21 all-purpose back in the class of 2018 by 247Sports.com, picked Louisville over a lengthy list if suitors that includes Missouri, Boston College, Syracuse and Cincinnati.
Bobby Petrino has repeatedly said in recent years that he wants his program to get faster. That being the case, it’s understandable why he would target Hawkins. Though he stands just 5’8, 165-pounds, Hawkins ran a blistering 4.36 40-yard dash at The Opening in Orlando earlier this summer.
As a junior star for Florida 4-A state champion Cocoa High School in 2016, Hawkins rushed for 788 yards and nine touchdowns on 81 carries a year ago, an average of almost 10 yards per carry. He also caught 22 passes for 509 yards and seven more touchdowns. As a sophomore at Astronaut High School in 2015, Hawkins rushed for 306 yards in a single game.
Here he is in action:
That might very well be your slot/punt return/kick return weapon of the future. I enjoy his track finish across the goalline move.
