According to CBS, the much discussed resumption of the Louisville-Memphis rivalry will take place at Madison Square Garden near the beginning of the 2017-18 season.
The meeting will be the 90th all-time between the Cardinals and Tigers in a series that U of L leads 53-36. The two teams haven't played since Louisville joined the ACC in 2014. Memphis won both meetings with the Cards when the two schools were member of the American conference in 2013-14.
Added intrigue for the game will also come in the form of former Kentucky coach Tubby Smith being the new head coach at Memphis. Rick Pitino is 7-5 all-time against his former assistant. The two haven't squared off since Smith's Minnesota team upset Louisville on a neutral court in Arizona back in 2008.
I'm not even going to Brick Roll you here, I'm just going to post the video.
Welcome back to the fold, Memphis State. You have been missed.
