That’s more like it.
A year after being on the wrong end of the biggest upset in the history of the Battle for the Governor’s Cup, the Louisville football team got sweet revenge on Saturday.
The Cardinals did not punt once as they rolled to a 44-17 win over arch-rival Kentucky at Kroger Field in Lexington. Lamar Jackson was the star of stars as expected, throwing for 216 yards and two scores while rushing for another 156 yards.
“I’m very satisfied,” Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino said after the game.
There’s plenty more to be said about what went down today, but for now let’s reiterate something that was said earlier this week ....
Your sign of progress is still our cause for concern. Your best still doesn’t surpass our worst. Your growth isn’t good enough. I’m glad you milked last year for all it was worth, because this is still our state.
