Good news for U of L ahead of Saturday’s rivalry game.

According to Louisville head coach Chris Mack, starting point guard Christen Cunningham has returned to practice, meaning he should be available for Saturday’s game against Kentucky.

Cunningham missed last Friday’s game against Robert Morris after suffering concussion-like symptoms following a hard fall during practice.

Without Cunningham, Louisville struggled against what should have been an overmatched Robert Morris team. The Cards trailed at halftime and by as many as 8 points in the second half before charging back to claim a 73-59 victory. Guards Darius Perry and Ryan McMahon each had three turnovers apiece in Cuningham’s absence.

A graduate transfer from Samford, Cunningham had started the first 11 games of the 2018-19 season for Louisville. He’s currently averaging 8.6 points and a team-leading 3.1 assists per game, and is coming off a performance against Kent State in which he scored a season-high 17 points.
