The NC State athletic department issued a press release last Tuesday stating Barber had suffered a concussion. At the time Barber was listed as day-to-day. One week later, Barber is still sitting.
Here is more from College Basketball Talk.
It’s with that caveat that I tell you that Barber, who was listed as day-to-day, has still not returned to practice. And according to the Fayetteville Observer, he isn’t expected back to practice for the rest of this week.
We're still a month away from the beginning of play but Barber is missing valuable practice time for NC State as a freshman. If you recall, two years ago Alex Murphy of Duke started the season with a concussion as well. Murphy, once deemed as a potential starter, never found a role for the Blue Devils. Barber's situation is certainly different, but it can't be denied that the freshman will have a lot to catch up on when he returns to practice.
