Irish finish the ACC season with .500 record

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish ended the regular season on a high note with a 64-56 win over the Virginia Tech Holies on senior night. T.J Gibbs scored 22 points and was 5-8 from behind the three point line (7-12 overall from the field).
Before the game, Notre Dame honored its three seniors Rex Pflueger, John Mooney, and Gibbs. Mooney pulled down 13 rebounds but was three points shy of getting his 26th double-double of the year.
Dane Goodwin was Notre Dame’s second leading scorer of the day and racked up 13 points off the bench.
The Irish finish the regular season 19-12 overall and 10-10 in ACC play. They have zero wins over top 25 programs, and essentially, the two blown losses over the past couple of weeks against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Florida State Seminoles sealed their postseason fate. If the Irish are going to be a part of the NCAA Tournament, they will have to win the ACC Tournament to get an invite. If they fall short — even if it’s by 1 point in the lest second of the ACC Championship game — they are NIT bound.
