Well this one hurts.
After the 2016-2017 Syracuse basketball season, the Orange will surely lose fifth-year seniors John Gillon and Andrew White. With a depleted backcourt, it’s imperative the Orange pick up a guard in the 2017 recruiting class.
Tonight, Quade Green pledged his commitment to Kentucky over Syracuse — he already signed his LOI on Wednesday. Green is ranked No. 22 in the 2017 ESPN 100 and is considered the third best point guard in the class.
Syracuse had been recruiting Green for some time — two years to be exact. The Syracuse coaching staff found Green relatively early in the process before he blew up on the national scene but it proved to no avail as John Calipari and the Wildcats were still able to pull Green in.
The need to pull in a guard from the class of 2017 becomes all the more important as we move forward.
