The hits refuse to stop coming.
New Albany High School superstar Romeo Langford, a player Louisville had seemingly spent a decade recruiting, announced Wednesday night that he will not be a Cardinal.
"Due to the current allegations associated with the University of Louisville men's basketball program, a family decision was made that Romeo Langford will no longer be considering U of L in his recruitment," Langford’s father, Tim, said in a text message to the Courier-Journal.
Langford is a consensus top 10 player from the class of 2018 who is one of the best talents to come out of this area in a long while. Scout currently ranks him as the No. 5 senior in the country.
Obviously, you can’t blame the kid or his family for making this decision right now, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a bitter pill to swallow. It’s crazy to see years of time and effort just completely collapse in a matter of two days, and I’m not just talking about the recruitment of Langford.
Best of luck to Romeo and his family as they proceed with their decision.
