Yeah, yeah baseball isn't in the NCAA Tournament but frankly that might be the only real blemish on the current athletic year. Just how good was it?
-Two national titles: Men's and women's lacrosse.
-National runner-up in men's basketball and field hockey
-Four ACC Championships: Men's basketball, field hockey, women's lacrosse and women's tennis.
-Football won 11 games and went 8-0 on the way to winning the Coastal Division.
Looking to the Learfield Director's Cup, UNC finished the winter season in sixth place and first among ACC schools. The performance of the spring sports should serve as a nice boost into what could be a second straight top five finish after finishing 14th in 2013-14.
The national titles by the lacrosse teams brings UNC's total number of team national titles to 42 which easily leads the ACC. It is also ninth nationally among Division I schools.
Amid the academic scandal and six years of what has felt like near constant NCAA probing, UNC's level of excellence in competition has not abated.
