With six freshmen on the 2022-23 Syracuse roster, head coach Jim Boeheim told media members at the 2022 ACC Men's Basketball Tip-off that his team will lean on their veterans. While Boeheim believes in the talent of his incoming freshmen, he praised guard Joseph Girard III and center Jesse Edwards and said that will be players that Syracuse will need to lead the team this season.
