Wake Forest got destroyed on the hardwood and also by the national media today.
Wake Forest lost to North Carolina 95-57 today in what was both the worst loss in the history of the rivalry (spanning 200+ meetings), and also the worst loss in the history of the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (the previous worst was 36 points, which happened three times previously).
UNC got out to an 18-0 lead (shocker!), which prompted a lot of national recognition from sportswriters on the futility of Wake Forest.
I have already written the “Fire Danny Manning” article, which I obviously still stand behind, but today let’s take a look at the reactions, which will hopefully be more ammo to present the case to the Wake administration that this it totally unacceptable.
Here we go:
No. 8 UNC beats Wake Forest 95-57.

It's Wake Forest's worst loss in Joel Coliseum history, which opened in 1989.
UNC destroys Wake Forest 95-57, as the Deacs fall to 9-15 overall and 2-10 in the ACC. Up next is a trip to South Bend Tuesday night to face the Fighting Irish.

How does Danny Manning still have a job at Wake Forest? That program is a complete disaster.

Ronny Wellman. That’s how. https://t.co/QEHiGM4zwZ

Today's crowd at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem is probably 75% UNC fans and 25 % Wake Forest fans.

Wake Forest just lost a basketball game by 38 points.

And the announcers called the Joel the "Dean Smith Center West."
Other than those two things, today was great.
North Carolina wins at Wake Forest by 38. Two years ago, Demon Deacons were an NCAA team. Have since lost John Collins, Bryant Crawford, and Doral Moore. A lot changes in 24 months.

Wake Forest’s 49-21 halftime deficit vs. UNC is the largest halftime deficit the Deacs have ever faced inside the Joel Coliseum.

Yeah I get the buyout situation but how in the heck is Danny Manning still employed?? #WakeForest

There were many, many more as well, so if you want to get the full picture just search “Wake Forest” on Twitter and enjoy that we are “historically competitive” and “couldn’t be happier” about it.
