The ACC went 4-1 on the final night of basketball before conference play starts on Saturday. Only FSU dropped its game at Auburn once again struggling to defend, while Miami picked up the best win of the night, winning 76-59 over La Salle.
The Hurricanes win came despite trailing 36-30 at halftime. Miami was playing once again without Reggie Johnson who is out until February. The difference in the second half was Kenny Kadji, who scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half. More importantly, Kadji got to the line 5 times in the second half, instead of just floating around the perimeter.
Duke picked up a win in Charlotte over a tough, well-coached Davidson team. The Blue Devils won on a night when Mason Plumlee scored just 10 pts and tallied 6 turnovers and Seth Curry finished with 6 points on 3-11 shooting. Ryan Kelly (18 pts) and Quinn Cook (15 pts) picked up the slack. After another night of getting beat in both rebounding %'s, Duke will need to figure something out as conference play begins on Saturday.
Wake Forest picked up a good win beating Xavier 66-59 on Wednesday night. Travis McKie led the way with 19 points while Codi Miller-McIntyre added 16 points and CJ Harris added 15 points.
Georgia Tech picked up a 74-58 win over Chattanooga, putting four players in double-figures led by Marcus Georges-Hunt's 16 points.
No games until Saturday when conference play begins.
