Danny Green had himself quite a night on Tuesday in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The former Tar Heel hit 7-9 three pointers and scored 27 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 113-77 win over Miami for a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Green's shooting along with teammate Gary Neal hitting six threes helped the Spurs set an NBA Finals record for three pointers made with sixteen.
Green's shooting performance was so prolific if brought back memories of his six three pointers against UNC-Asheville in the 2008-09 season. That night is best remembered for Green shooting and making his sixth three(6:36 mark of the video) with his feet on the "western" part of the Dean Dome's North Carolina logo. He would take a "heat check" three from nearly the same spot in an effort to make a seventh from beyond the arc but missed it.
Needless to say Green has been beyond hot in the Finals. In three games, Green is 16-23 from beyond the arc or 69%. In game two, Green set an NBA Finals record for threes without a miss with five. Game Four will be Thursday night where Green will look to continue his hot shooting.
