Two class of 2018 football recruits provide updates on their recruiting process Monday
The North Carolina Tar Heels had an interesting week in regards to football recruiting.
On Wednesday, the Tar Heels football team received a commitment from class of 2018 defensive back Bryson Richardson.
The three-star recruit committed to the Tar Heels while taking an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill and became the fifth player in UNC’s 2017 class. It could have been an even bigger day for the Tar Heels but it ended in some disappointment.
Just hours after Richardson committed to UNC, defensive back Tre Turner decided to do the opposite.
Turner committed to Virginia Tech over the Tar Heels as they lost an in-state recruit.
But the recruiting cycle is still in full swing and there are a few updates regarding class of 2018 UNC targets.
Class of 2018 running back Ronnie Walker announced via Twitter that he had cut his list of schools down to 10 on Monday morning.
The four-star running back from Hopewell, Virginia listed the Tar Heels in that final 10:

UNC will battle fellow ACC schools Virginia, NC State, Virginia Tech and Duke.
The five other schools are represented by the Big 10 with Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, Rutgers and Purdue making the cut.
Hours later, a 2018 target updated everyone on his announcement date.
Three-star defensive back D.J. Crossen announced via Twitter that he has moved his announcement date to Thursday night.

The Greensboro, North Carolina native is ranked as the 18th-best recruit in the state and has the Tar Heels and Hokies in his final two.
The Hokies are heavily favored to land the quarterback. If that happens, it will be another in-state defensive back the Tar Heels would lose to the Hokies.
