North Carolina wide receiver Devontez "Tez" Walker set the college football world ablaze over the weekend with his breakout performance in the Tar Heels' 41-31 win over Miami. Tez caught 6 passes for 132 yards and 3 touchdowns from superstar quarterback Drake Maye in the win. Tez's transfer and eligibility story has been told since the beginning of the season when he was deemed ineligible by the NCAA. After a lengthy appeal process Walker was able to join the Heels on the field for game five of the 2023 season against the Syracuse Orange. The dynamic wideout helped Carolina to a big win over the Orange despite little practice time.
